With the report, the Research Council wanted:
“… a best possible knowledge base on the possibilities and challenges for the production of species other than salmon and rainbow trout, and in particular challenges where the authorities have / can have a role. A new study should include potential organisms for production in Norway, the biological knowledge base and opportunities and challenges in production, the environment, the economy and the market. ”
The project was organized with a project group consisting of representatives from the project partners. In consultation with the client, a reference group was also made up of 6 members from R&D and industry as well as observers from the Research Council of Norway, NFD, Innovation Norway, UIT Norway’s Arctic University and the Norwegian Food Safety Authority.
The project was completed in December 2019.
