GOMPLAR Project

The main objective of GOMPLAR is to describe, compare and analyze two regional international regulatory and governance frameworks addressing marine plastic litter in order to draw conclusions for possible solutions in the Arctic, seeking synergies and interplay mechanisms between a possible circumpolar arrangement and the two regional ones.

The research aims at generating new knowledge to support future policy formulation by the government of Norway, the Arctic Council and other bodies currently working to put in place a circumpolar regulatory framework to minimize marine plastic litter in the Arctic.
