Marbef

Akvaplan-niva is among eighty-three marine institutes and one of three SME’s (small to medium size enterprises) participating in the marine biodiversity and ecosystem functioning European Union network of excellence (MARBEF). MARBEF serves as a platform for integrating and disseminating knowledge and expertise on marine biodiversity, with links to researchers, industry, stakeholders and the general public.

AMAP

The company has been an active contributor of scientific data to the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme, AMAP, since the programme’s inception. Several company scientists are key national experts for AMAP and have served as supporting authors in the AMAP report series and. Director, Salve Dahle is currently serving as a lead author in the upcoming AMAP report, Assessment of Oil and Gas Activities in the Arctic.

Arctos

The company is a founding member of ARCTOS (Arctic marine ecosystem network of scientists) and is leader of the ARCTOS Applied Science Forum which facilitates the rapid transfer of basic research into applied science. Under ARCTOS, an annual conference series, ‘Arctic Frontiers’. has been launched.

European Topic Centre on Water

Akvaplan-niva is a partner in the European Topic Centre on Water 2007 – 2010.
